A Family Owned Car Wash Since 2013

Two Kentucky shops, one crew, and a rule that hasn’t changed in over a decade: treat every vehicle like it belongs to somebody you’ll run into at the grocery store.

How it started

One shop, one standard.

Armondo Cochran opened Shine On Your Time in 2013 with a simple idea: a car wash run by people from the same towns as the customers, who treat every vehicle and every neighbor like family.

That meant washing by hand, one vehicle at a time, and drying with microfiber instead of blasting air and leaving spots. It meant knowing regulars by their vehicles, which is still how it works. We scan your plate and your history comes up.

Today we run two shops: the hand-wash location with self-serve bays in Shelbyville, and the tunnel and detail shop in Frankfort. Plus mobile detailing that covers Central Kentucky along the I-64 corridor.

The crew

The people who’ll be washing your vehicle.

Same faces, same two lots. Insured, background-checked, and from around here. The person washing your vehicle probably shops where you shop.

In the bay

It starts with a pre-soak.

At the hand-wash shop every vehicle is rinsed and pre-soaked before a hand touches the paint, so the grit comes off instead of getting dragged across your clear coat.

Inside

Door panels, jambs, and the parts nobody sees.

A tunnel can’t reach a door pocket. On an inside-and-out wash we wipe the panels, the cupholders and the jambs by hand, because that’s the part you sit with every day.

Drying

Towel dried, every time.

Air dryers leave the water sitting in the seams and you get spots an hour later. Clean microfiber on every panel is slower, and it’s the reason there’s no spotting.

While you wait

A lounge, not a plastic chair by the vacuum.

Coffee, a TV, and somewhere to actually sit. Most washes are quick enough that you won’t get through much of whatever’s on.

Keys back

We hand it back the way we’d want ours handed back.

If a $25 wash is what your vehicle needed, that’s what you’ll pay for. Nobody here is going to talk you into a $295 detail you didn’t come in for.

What we hold to

Hand washed, hand dried

Shelbyville washes by hand with clean mitts and dries with microfiber. Frankfort’s soft-touch tunnel is built for speed. Same prices at both, so you pick the one the day calls for.

Straight prices

Every price is posted on this site. Detailing is priced by vehicle size because a third-row SUV takes longer than a sedan.

Local people

Insured, background-checked, and from around here. The person washing your vehicle probably shops where you shop.

No pressure

If a $25 wash is what your vehicle needs, we’ll tell you that instead of selling you a $295 detail.

Community

Wash a vehicle, support your team.

Booster clubs, schools, churches and teams can book a fundraiser wash day with us. Your group brings the vehicles, and $5 from every wash goes straight back to the group. Call either shop to get a date on the calendar.

Love it? Share it. Give $10, get $10. Your friend gets $10 off any wash, and you get $10 off your next one. Just ask staff to apply it.

Where we’re headed

Let’s grow together

We’re a family business, and this community is part of the family. Come as you are, and we’ll take care of you.

About us, answered

What neighbors ask about the shop

Who runs Shine On Your Time?

It is a family business. Armondo Cochran and his team have been washing cars here since 2013, and our name is on the building.

How long have you been around?

Since 2013, in Frankfort and Shelbyville, family-owned and family-run the whole time.

Do you work on RVs, boats, horse trailers and motorcycles?

Yes, and we tell you up front what is included. Two levels: a hand wash for regular upkeep, or a full detail with black streak removal, gel coat work, aluminum polish and the interior. Drop it off at either shop or we will come to you. Priced by size, so call Shelbyville at (502) 257-2308 or Frankfort at (502) 352-2443 for a real number.

Can our team or church do a fundraiser?

Yes. Your group books a day and brings the vehicles, and $5 from every wash goes straight back to the group. Call Shelbyville at (502) 257-2308 or Frankfort at (502) 352-2443 to get on the calendar.

Is there a referral deal?

Give $10, get $10. Your friend gets $10 off any wash, and you get $10 off your next one. Just ask staff to apply it.

What if the job is not right?

Tell us before you pay the rest and we will fix it. That is the whole policy.
