A Family Owned Car Wash Since 2013

Two Kentucky shops, one crew, and a rule that hasn’t changed in over a decade: treat every vehicle like it belongs to somebody you’ll run into at the grocery store.

How it started

One shop, one standard.

Armondo Cochran opened Shine On Your Time in 2013 with a straightforward idea — that a car wash could be something you actually looked forward to, run by people from the same towns as the customers.

That meant washing by hand instead of running brushes over somebody’s paint. It meant drying with microfiber instead of blasting air and leaving spots. And it meant knowing regulars by their vehicles, which is still how it works — we scan your plate and your history comes up.

Today we run two shops: the hand-wash location with self-serve bays in Shelbyville, and the tunnel and detail shop in Frankfort. Plus mobile detailing that covers Central Kentucky along the I-64 corridor.

In the bay

It starts with a pre-soak, not a brush.

Every vehicle gets rinsed and pre-soaked before a hand ever touches the paint, so the grit comes off instead of getting dragged across your clear coat.

Inside

Door panels, jambs, and the parts nobody sees.

A tunnel can’t reach a door pocket. On an inside-and-out wash we wipe the panels, the cupholders and the jambs by hand, because that’s the part you sit with every day.

Drying

Towel dried, never blown dry and hoped for.

Air dryers leave the water sitting in the seams and you get spots an hour later. Clean microfiber on every panel is slower, and it’s the reason there’s no spotting.

While you wait

A lounge, not a plastic chair by the vacuum.

Coffee, a TV, and somewhere to actually sit. Most washes are quick enough that you won’t get through much of whatever’s on.

We hand it back the way we’d want ours handed back.

Never a brush

Shelbyville washes by hand with clean mitts. Frankfort’s tunnel is touchless. Either way nothing with bristles goes near your clear coat — that’s what causes swirl marks.

Straight prices

Every price is published on this site. Detailing is priced by vehicle size because a third-row SUV genuinely takes longer than a sedan.
